We’ve seen pictures and have been dreaming of swimming in cave pools. As we were looking for the path to one of these hidden beauties near our resort, a concerned local asked where we were going. After a few tries, he understood. Then he said: “Not recommended for tourists, ma’am. No one cleans there. It’s isolated. Be careful!” A warning like that made it feel like a giant, life-threatening adventure. In reality, it was a 5-10 minute walk down a path in the woods/jungle. There was some litter en route, but the pool was pristine.
