Can-Umantad falls

The highest waterfall in Bohol

At 60m, these are the tallest waterfalls on Bohol. They were spectacular! We got to swim in the pools at the bottom, which were 6 feet deep at the deepest part, and all six of us even got to go through the falls to see them from behind! Talk about a high pressure shower! The journey to the falls was almost as fun… We took a one hour “tricycle” ride. These tricycles are actually motorbikes with covered passenger compartments welded on. (See the picture). This one was probably as old as me. We had to stop early in the trip to inflate the front tire. On some steeper sections of the climb, the driver’s assistant hopped out and pushed! Pouring rain made the experience even more memorable. The last kilometre was closed to anything with more than two wheels, including tricycles like ours. This kilometre was a very steep walk down to get to the bottom of the falls. Inspired by events earlier in the day, Daniel offered to help his mom back up by giving her a little push from behind. She politely declined and made it back up on her own power 🙂

Stunning! Idyllic! I love hearing about your adventures! The transportation methods sound like as much of an adventure as the destinations! 😊
