It’s time to say goodbye to Artremaru. Eveleigh inherited her mother’s ability to make friends. She wrote all the “Ates” individual thank you cards and handed them out with hugs. After some tears we were on the way. Another 15 passenger van, but no vomit bag this time. We were nervous for the 5hr drive, but the road was smooth and our driver was kind:-).

El Nido is a top tourist destination. In fact, it felt like there were more tourists than locals. Of course, there’s a reason for this: it’s beautiful! High tourist density comes with some perks, like food (and coffee) that is more familiar.

The town itself is quite small. Every road is lined with vendors and restaurants. At night, they close several blocks to traffic and street food comes out! It’s a really fun atmosphere.

But no one really comes to El Nido for the town’s sake…

And believe it or not, these views are basically of the port – the starting point for island hopping and the really beautiful places. Which brings me to my next entry…
